Dr. K.M. Alexander obtained his PhD on Museology from the Chinese Frontier Archaeological Research Centre of the Jilin University Changchun, China in 2009. He has been a grantee of the NCAS during 2005-2009 and completed his obligations.
Dr. Alexander’s research topic for the thesis dealt with a most fundamental area of the discipline, the Theories and Principles of Museology, and it was completed under the supervision of Professor Yang Jianhua, Professor Lv Jun and Professor Zhong Wenli. In his thesis he has discussed very clearly the practically oriented questions related to museum management, especially on artifacts management. The thesis depicts practical knowledge on the above topic and it is the first research oriented PhD in Sri Lanka in Museology.
